Stumbling around corners ????

Just bought a 1998 Sportster 1200C and rode it to work for the first time today. Straight hiway for about 10 miles then have a pretty good corner to take to and off ramp. Came off the corner about 45 mph and the bike seemed to stumble like a fuel issue. I throttled it on and it came out of it but my question is are the Harley's prone to such issues do the the cv carb? My previous metric cruisers V45's with 4 carbs never had an issue. Thanks Phil
